John Hunt works with the medium of oil paint on heavy duty glass and mixed media on canvas. His work is included in over four hundred art collections in Britain, Europe, Australia, Africa, New Zealand, Canada, Japan and the U.S.A.

John was born in 1965 and grew up in Deptford, London. He spent ten years painting and making photographs on the Isles of Scilly and Orkney before returning to the U. K. mainland in 1995. John's work has been shown in over 150 exhibitions, in London, New York and Scotland, his home since 1990, from the Borders to Orkney, including the Royal Scottish Academy. Future exhibitions are currently being planned for London and New York.

Oil on Glass

Oil on glass is an old technique which John has revived and developed using specially built easels. He Paints back to front, the foreground first and background last on the reverse side of the glass.
